After the group's breakup, he and his second wife, Yoko Ono, carried on intertwined solo careers. Ono's early albums presaged the elastic, screechy vocal style of late-'70s new wavers like the B-52's and Lene Lovich. L7 and Babes in Toyland have also been influenced by and benefited from Ono's attitudinal, emotionally trailblazing work. Lennon strove to break taboos and to be ruthlessly, publicly honest. When he was murdered on December 8, 1980, he and Ono seemed on the verge of a new, more optimistic phase.

Tribute to John Lennon

Last sunday was the John Lennon's 70th bithday (ouch he's getting old :-). I'm just obsessed with The Beatles, they are my inspiration everyday since I've heard them and I'm a super fan of John Lennon . I wanted to celebrate his birthday with this post Le 70ème anniversaire du très regretté John Lennon était dimanche dernier ( sa en fait des années John !). Je suis une fanne inconditionnelle des Beatles, c'est ma source d'inspiration depuis la première fois que je les ais entendu, et John Lennon a toujours été mon préféré de part son talent unique. Je voulais dons célébrer son anniversaire avec vous :-)

Why should I study in china?

I went to Beijing in 2008 to do a 4 year bachelor’s degree in “Chinese Language and Culture.” Or “Chinese business.” Or… Just “Chinese.” Depends who you ask. I have a few reasons that you SHOULDN’T do it, and a few reasons that you SHOULD. Whether or not you DO depends alot on your goals. Here goes: DON’T GET YOUR DEGREE IN CHINA Reason 1: The quality of education is a toss-up. My university initially told me that I’d do 2 years of intensive language studies, then I’d pick a major, and I’d spend my latter two years studying with the Chinese students. How immersive! Yeah except that’s not what happened. I never got the opportunity to select a major, I just had 4 years of language study. We never had any classes with Chinese students, and we were actually discouraged from interacting with them for reasons unclear. Reason 2: It might not work outside of China...
