John Lennon was murdered on December 8th, 1980 just outside of his Dakota
building residence, on the Upper West Side of
Manhattan. Accompanied by his wife, Yoko Ono, the musician was shot four times in
the back
by Mark Chapman, a man who asked Lennon for an autograph just an hour
before he murdered him. On the 20th Anniversary of John Lennon’s death,
Yoko Ono initiated a campaign against gun violence in the United States.
On December 8th, 1980, the 30th Anniversary of John Lennon’s death,
family, friends and fans will pay tribute to the legendary former
Beatle.
