'We all get along': Eva Longoria refuses to acknowledge Desperate Housewives feud despite leaving Teri Hatcher's name off farewell gift card
Desperate Housewives star Eva
Longoria put her acting skills to the test during an interview with
David Letterman last night.
The actress glossed over the now public feud between the hit show's leading ladies when she was quizzed about relations on set.
With a plastered on smile, she told the host: 'We all get along.'
Discussing the final days on
set of the hit show, Eva explained that cast gave the crew luggage as a
farewell gift, but failed to acknowledge that Teri Hatcher's name had
been deliberately left off the card.
When Letterman said he had heard rumours of 'fights and stuff,' Eva refused to be drawn into a discussion on it, saying: 'I know, everybody says that.'
When asked if there was a sense of competition between the cast, Eva said: 'Not really.'
The 37-year-old - who has played
Gabrielle Solis since the start of the show eight years ago - was
promoting the finale, which airs on Sunday.
The actress looked stunning in a black Victoria Beckham dress and metallic pink killer heels.
Long-standing whispers of a rift between the cast were confirmed earlier this when when a photograph of a gift card from the actresses emerged on Celebuzz.
A note attached to the Soren branded carry-on luggage read: 'Just know that on all your future adventures you are carrying a little piece of our love and gratitude. Thank you for a magical 8 years.'
It was signed off in fancy
printed italic script: 'Love Eva, Marcia, Felicity and Vanessa.'
A production source told the website: 'The girls don’t get along with Teri so they organised this and left her out.'
This snub of 47-year-old Hatcher isn't the first time there's been a suggestion that she is unpopular with her co-stars.
During Nicollette Sheridan’s court case against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, the television executive testified that Sheridan had once told him that Hatcher was the 'meanest woman in the world.'
It also emerged during the trial that bosses had considered writing Hatcher out of the show in series five, though Cherry tried to downplay this idea.
And during the cast’s Vanity Fair cover in 2005, Cross and Longoria reportedly threatened to walk off if they posed with Hatcher in the centre - and she ended up on the far left of frame.
